Kids Art Space – Noosa Regional Gallery

Unleashing the inner child … I was super delighted when given the opportunity to curate the Kids Space to accompany my exhibition, Domestic Duties Chapter Three ‘Sacred in the Domestic’.  Pictured below, in room one, lined with coloured flags and original vintage wire laundry baskets is an interactive space where kids can make their own Personalised Prayer Flag hanging to take home as a keepsake. By choosing seven happy words (when thinking of what is most sacred to them in the home), kids are asked to write their words onto torn upcycled pillowcase strips and attach them to a coathanger. Also in room one, seating at the round table, kids can get their creative juices flowing by creating a colourful peg mandala.

Finally in the second room, kids can learn about how domestics were done back in the day with copper boilers, washboards and the like, from the original (vintage) domestic objects on display.

The art activities and educational display continues until the end of exhibition, Sun 21 January 2018.
